I got a little further.. You might be able to see where I'm going now..

Ain't it pretty???

Man I thought I was going to have more hood clearance!!

Not too bad for 1 day's work.. Actually half the day was spent fabricating mounts for my fuel accumulator and high pressure pump!

I think I'm going to beat Sykora's time to do a conversion.. :flipoff2:

The hood clearance problem is a good thing... that hood is hideous anyway. You should build a shaker hood for it now. That upper intake manifold is huge on that thing. Is that a GT40 intake or just a stock 302? It's looking good.

My Toy: Bright yellow 85 CJ-7 on 31s (officially sold to Ben now but I'm still building it)
Sold: Maroon 92 XJ - 5" lift, locked, and 32s

The road goes on forever and the party never ends...

The lower manifold is from a 94 Lightning and the upper is from a 98 Explorer. That's what I had to go with to get a GT40 style intake. Flows a lot better than the stock Mustang setup. I've been planning on changing the hood, but I was waiting till I did this to see what would fit. Dunno how it's going to come out now!

I only managed to get it half way into the garage.. I started working on it on the trailer in the driveway, but then I figured out it was 10 degrees cooler in the garage. I wanted to pull further into the garage, but I had to put a tire up on Brian's 6 speed just to get it that far!

Here's most of what I started with:

Looks good man. Shaker hood or cowl hood. Or, it's always cool just to cut holes in your hood and have engine parts just sticking out. lol  later, j

The hood is a multi purpose one. It becomes a roof when the engine gets warm. :rollinglaugh:

Marc I have my old CJ hood off my 77 CJ5 I was wanting to sale, but I will give it to you. I know you can make it fit. Cut it up as much as you want to make it look good.
