thermostat change

its time to flush out my coolant in my yj. i heard that if i change out my stock 195 degree thermo with a 180 i will get better performance .i do not have a over heating problem. will the change trick the computer to not work properly ?

The common theme from the XJ-list is to keep the 195 degree thermostat.

Correct on the 195. Both of my T J s run at 210. Anything less than factory specs will foul the computer.

I know the Jet stage II chip needs a lower temp thermostat but I can't see how you will get more low end power out of lowering the operating temp 10 degrees.
